NSN’s Penn State Football Recommitment Tracker 2026

The transfer portal window closes today, and although some members of the 2025 Penn State football team entered, others reaffirmed their commitments to the Nittany Lions football program.

Every team loses players to the transfer portal, and that’s just one of the realities of college football in the 2020s.

With a new head coach and plenty of uncertainty going into Penn State football’s next age, some expected a mass exodus through the transfer portal.

Although Penn State has lost plenty of players to the portal, plenty decided to return, too.

The guy who launched it all was Cooper Cousins who, fittingly, also launched Penn State’s Class of 2024 by committing more than a year before anybody else did.

Other key players, such as RB Quinton Martin Jr. on offense and CB’s Daryus Dixson and Jahmir Joseph, followed suit.

Penn State also got a key special team’s re-committment from Ryan Barker, who emerged as one of the best kickers in the country.
