A key part of Penn State’s potential offensive line plans is returning to the team next season.
Sophomore interior lineman Cooper Cousins announced on social media Monday that he is ready to work and get back to it in Penn State colors.
“Ready to get back to work! Cousins said. “I BLEED BLUE AND WHITE💙🤍💙🤍”
Cousins played left guard for Penn State during the 22-10 victory over Clemson in the 2025 Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
Cousins was a key depth piece in Penn State’s run to the College Football Playoff semifinals and burned his redshirt.
An Erie native and graduate of McDowell High School, Cousins will likely be a main anchor of Penn State’s 2026 offensive line. Redshirt sophomore right tackle Anthony Donkoh was the only starting lineman to play in the Pinstripe Bowl and has yet to announce his future plans.
The 6-foot-6, 316-pound lineman played in 12 of PSU’s 13 games, including two starts against Ohio State and Clemson. He suited up for all 16 games of Penn State’s storybook 2024 run to Miami.
Cousins was the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania in the class of 2024 as a four-star prospect.
Matt Campbell officially takes over as head coach this week after interim Terry Smith led the Nittany Lions to four wins in a row to close out the season.
