In recruiting news, Penn State just lost a Class of 2027 QB commit to Boston College.
Now, it’s offered a Class of 2027 QB currently committed to Boston College.
Ben Rolapp, a three-star from the Brunswick School in Connecticut, announced via social media Wednesday night that he had received a Penn State offer.
Rolapp committed to BC in June, and also has offers from schools such as UConn, Delaware, Liberty, Miami (OH), Penn, Toledo and Tulane.
Rolapp ended 2025 with 20 touchdown passes and 2,268 yards, completing 129 of 191 passes per 247Sports. His father, Brian, is currently the CEO of the PGA Tour.
For months, it looked like Penn State’s Class of 2027 QB situation was settled. But circumstances changed.
THE FLIP
Will Wood had been committed to Penn State for more than five months. But Oct. 19, he announced that he had flipped to Boston College.
The decision made sense: Wood has a close relationship with BC coach and former Penn State boss Bill O’Brien, and is from Westwood, Massachusetts, which is less than a half hour away from Chestnut Hill. But it still stung, and left Penn State without a QB for its 2027 Class. PSU took a swing at Missouri QB commit Braylen Warren, with coach Matt Campbell even traveling to Omaha, Nebraska, to offer him in person during Penn State’s bye week.
But Warren announced that he’d stay committed to Missouri, sending Penn State back to the drawing board for its 2027 recruiting class at QB.
‘BOOBOO’

James Armstrong – Vikings Sports Now
Regardless of what happens with Penn State football’s recruiting Class of 2027 QB situation, PSU has a good one committed to its 2028 Class: Hopewell’s James “Booboo” Armstrong.
Armstrong a four-star, is the No. 10 QB in the country from his class per 247Sports composite ratings, as well as the No. 3 overall player in Pennsylvania and No. 145 overall prospect.
Yeah, he’s pretty good.
