Penn State received a major boost to its future offensive line depth on Sunday night as highly touted New Jersey native Malachi Goodman announced he will return to the program.
Goodman is the highest-rated recruit to come out of Paramus Catholic since the school produced Top-100 talents Jabrill Peppers, Rashan Gary, and Drew Singleton in the 2010s.
A five-star prospect by 247Sports and a four-star on the 247Sports Composite, Goodman remains one of the most physically gifted offensive linemen in the 2025 recruiting cycle despite not recording a snap during the 2025 season.
Measured at 6-foot-5.5 and 320 pounds at the Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Goodman boasts elite physical traits, including 10-inch hands, ideal arm length, and a nearly 6-foot-11 wingspan. His wide frame, thick lower half, and explosive hand quickness generate jarring punch power at the point of attack. He excels climbing to the second level, showing advanced athleticism and balance while maintaining blocks, and displays strong reactionary movement in pass protection.
Goodman’s functional strength is evident off the field as well, highlighted by a 46-foot-7.25-inch shot put personal best in spring 2024.
Still just 18 years old entering his redshirt freshman season, Goodman remains a developmental prospect with significant upside.
His return joins Dominic Rulli, Cooper Cousins, and Anthony Donkoh, giving Matt Campbell and offensive line coach Ryan Clanton welcome continuity and long-term potential in the trenches.
