New head coach Matt Campbell and offensive line coach Ryan Clanton continue to receive positive news regarding key returning offensive linemen who will help shape Penn State football’s 2026 roster.
On Monday , versatile OL Cooper Cousins and tackle Owen Aliciene announced their returns.
The next day, guard Anthony Donkoh followed suit, confirming he will also return for the 2026 season.
Donkoh shared the news on Instagram, posting “Let’s run this back,” along with a message thanking former head coach James Franklin and offensive line coach Phil Trautwein for their role in his development at Penn State.
Donkoh’s return is significant for Penn State. His versatility and consistency make him a valuable piece along the offensive front. During his redshirt freshman season in 2024, Donkoh made 10 starts at right tackle and emerged as one of the most reliable linemen on the roster. He was named a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award after allowing zero sacks on quarterback Drew Allar and just eight pressures over 10 games.
In 2025, Donkoh elevated his play further, grading as Penn State’s third-highest-rated offensive lineman, trailing only guard Vega Ioane and center Nick Dawkins. He posted a career-best 78.2 pass-blocking grade per Pro Football Focus and allowed only one sack on 343 pass-blocking snaps, solidifying his role as a cornerstone of the Nittany Lions’ offensive line heading into 2026.
