Booker T was a five-time WCW champion, and Kyle Dake can now relate to that.
Saturday in Kazakstan, Dake won his five world championships, taking gold with a gritty 3-2 win over Arsenii Dzhioev of Azerbaijan.
Dake, who entered the Senior Circuit as one of the greatest folkstyle wrestlers ever (four national titles at Cornell), now has six world medals overall to go with a pair of Olympic Bronze Medals. He trains at Penn State with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club due to it being the most prestigious wrestling room in the country, if not the world.
At 35 years old, Kyle Dake is still going strong.
“Dake earned a berth in the men’s freestyle 86 kg gold medal match with a 6-3 win over two-time U20 World champion and current European champion Ibragim Kadiev of Russia,” USA Wrestling writes. “The win reversed an 11-4 result in Kadiev’s favor at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series in March. He will aim for a fifth World title against 2025 World bronze medalist Arsenii Dzhioev of Azerbaijan.”
Dake isn’t the only wrestler named Kyle from NLWC to take home a Gold Medal.

Snyder, competing at 97 KG, finished the job by beating Japan’s Arash Yoshida 4-4 on criteria.
Additionally, current Penn State wrestler Marcus Blaze took home bronze at 61 KG and Penn State great Zain Retherford did the same at 70 KG.
It doesn’t look like Dake’s tank is running on empty by any means.
