A potential major offensive piece will return to Penn State Football in 2026, as five-star running back Quinton Martin Jr. announced his plan to remain with the program in an Instagram post on Friday, Jan. 2.
A redshirt freshman with three years of eligibility remaining, the 6-foot-1, 206 pound Martin ranked as one of the top 100 players in the class of 2024 according to ESPN. While injuries and a loaded running back room ahead of him have limited his production to this point, Martin burst onto the stage with 20 carries for 103 yards in Penn State’s Pinstripe Bowl win over Clemson.
With Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen headed to the NFL, Martin could take on an important role in 2026. A two-time PIAA state champion as the featured back at Belle Vernon during his time in high school, Martin racked up more than 5,300 offensive yards and 82 touchdowns during his time in high school.
