A young Penn State running back is returning to the Nittany Lions after all.
On Saturday morning, redshirt sophomore Cam Wallace announced on Instagram that he is coming back to Penn State for the 2026 season.
“We don came way too far 💯” Wallace posted with a “Run It Back” graphic, collaborating on the post with Penn State football.
Wallace initially entered the transfer portal earlier this January to explore other options, but is taking his name out of the portal and joining new running backs coach Savon Huggins.
He ran five times for 19 yards and caught a 12-yard pass in the season opener against Nevada. Wallace’s only other rush attempt was a four-yard carry against Villanova.
In three games as a redshirt freshman in 2024, Wallace totaled 18 carries for 63 yards and his first career touchdown.
Wallace rejoins a running back room that retained Quinton Martin Jr. and Tikey Hayes, but also added Ohio State transfer James Peoples and Iowa State starter Carson Hansen.
The transfer portal opened on January 2 and remains open for a 15-day window until January 16.
