Penn State wrestling star Levi Haines is once again a Big Ten Champion.
For the third season in a row, Haines went all the way at Big Tens.
This one was a little different from the first two.
Haines won in 2023 and ‘24 as a 157-pounder.
Before this season, Haines moved up to 174, and the move has gone quite well so far. He’s 20-1 with more than half of his wins being by the bonus point variety. The most recent victim was Nebraska’s Lenny Pinto. Haines had little trouble with Pinto, majoring him 12-1.
Now, the focus shifts to the national championships, where Haines won at 157 last year. But he’s doing it at a different weight class now and this will likely have to deal with Missouri’s Keegan O’Toole again. O’Toole is responsible for Haines’ lone defeat, beating him at the Collegiate Duals in December.
Haines can avenge that loss on his way to gold.
