Former Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson agreed to a two-year, $15 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, March 9 per a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter.
The new league year (and the free agent signing period) will begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, but teams and players are allowed to agree to terms before that.
Dotson spent four years at Penn State, catching 183 passes for 2,757 yards and 25 touchdowns, placing him among the top five in Nittany Lions’ history in most receiving statistics. The Washington Commanders selected the 5-foot-11, 182 pound target with the No. 16 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he lasted just two seasons in Washington, who flipped him to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third round and two seventh round draft picks.
Although Dotson won Super Bowl LIX with the Eagles, they declined his fifth-year option, letting him hit free agency this offseason. He amassed just 121 catches for 1,519 yards and 12 touchdowns in a four-year professional career and hasn’t cracked 300 yards since joining the Eagles.
Atlanta finished No. 19 in passing offense in 2025 and has mixed feelings on injury-prone starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who they selected No. 8 overall in 2024… not the best situation for a receiver looking to save his career to step into.
