Recruiting is a journey, and no one knows that better than Pine Richland (Gibsonia, Pennsylvania) wide receiver Khalil Taylor.
A consensus four-star receiver ranked among the top 20 nationally at his position, Taylor has seen his recruitment come full circle, with a return to the Nittany Lions now a real possibility.
According to Blue White Illustrated’s Sean Fitz, Taylor has Penn State at the top of his commitment board.
“I would consider them No. 1,” Taylor told BWI. “They’re definitely at the top of the board.”
Taylor was an early Class of 2027 commit to the Nittany Lions in March 2025, but as Penn State’s 2025 season began to unravel, so did his commitment.
On October 10, just days before James Franklin’s firing, Taylor decommitted from Penn State and began receiving offers from Notre Dame, Indiana, Florida State, Oregon, Nebraska, Colorado, and Georgia, where former Nittany Lions running back commit Kemon Spell ultimately landed.
Since Matt Campbell’s hiring, Taylor has become a priority for the Nittany Lions, and that emphasis has led to several return trips to Happy Valley.
Overall, Taylor has visited Penn State 17 times.
Taylor has been an elite wide receiver throughout his prep career. After a breakout 2024 season in which he recorded 51 receptions for 932 yards and 22 touchdowns, he followed it with another stellar year, finishing with 33 receptions for 571 yards and 16 touchdowns.
