Before the 2025 NFL season, former Penn State star Micah Parsons signed the largest contract ever signed by a non-quarterback.

The deal: four-years, $188 million with the Green Bay Packers following a blockbuster deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

This offseason, entering the 2026 campaign, one of his former teammates is breaking the bank to continue the impactful Penn State to the NFL Pipeline.

Veteran edge rusher Odafe Oweh is signing a four-year, $100 million contract with the Washington Commanders, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The deal includes $68 million of guaranteed money.

Oweh, 27, played his first four full seasons in Baltimore after being selected 31st overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. John Harbaugh and Baltimore traded Oweh to Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers after five games this season.

Oweh didn’t record a sack with the Ravens, but totaled 28 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks in LA over 12 games (two starts).

He played for Chargers DC Jesse Minter, who was hired as the Ravens’ next head coach and traded a 2026 and 2027 first-round pick to acquire star edge rusher Maxx Crosby last week.

The 6-foot-5 pass rusher’s best season came in 2024, registering a career-best 10 sacks and nine tackles for loss.

In five NFL seasons, Oweh has started 27 of 79 games and owns 176 tackles, 30.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, 79 quarterback hits, seven forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

The 6-foot-5, Hackensack, New Jersey native played three seasons at Penn State before declaring for the draft.

Oweh redshirted his freshman year, where he recorded two sacks and two tackles for loss in four games.

His best season came in 2029, making 21 tackles and earning five sacks, five TFLs, two forced fumbles, and one pass defended at defensive end in Brent Pry’s defense.

The pandemic disrupted Oweh’s final season and limited him to seven games. He set career marks in tackles (38) and tackles for loss (6.5), but didn’t record a sack.

It’s a significant contract for Oweh, who definitely benefited from his playoff performance against the New England Patriots.

Oweh sacked Patriots quarterback Drake Maye three times in New England on January 11 and forced two fumbles.

The two forced fumbles were the only ones Oweh recorded during the 2025 season to go into free agency on a very high note, looking for a big deal.

Monday at noon marked the start of the NFL legal tampering period, with the start of the league year and the official beginning of free agency
