Penn State Blue-White Game Will be a Blue-White Practice

Redshirt freshman Quinton Celebrates his team Blue touchdown.

Penn State fans are used to the Blue-White Game, which marks the end of spring practice every year.

This year, there will be an event toward the end of April at Beaver Stadium that’s open to the public, but this time, it will be in a practice format.

Penn State announced late Thursday afternoon that this year’s Blue-White Practice will take place Saturday, April 25 at 1. The parking lots will open at 8 a.m. Specific stadium entrances (Club, Letterman/ADA, Museum/ADA and suite) will open at 10, and gates for the general admission (A, B, C, D and E) will open at 11.

Due to the ongoing renovation of Beaver Stadium, fans will not be able to sit on the west side, and the upper levels (North and South) will also be closed.

This lines up with what first-year coach Matt Campbell told reporters to expect on the first day of spring practice.

“We’ll evaluate exactly what that 15th practice looks like,” Campbell said. “I think you’ll get some version of practice. Hopefully we can get some scrimmaging where we get some live reps in practice and be able to showcase that.”

“I think it’s really important for us with how critical our fan base is to our football program, that we get out and have an opportunity for our fans to be with us,” he said. “But I think equally it’s critical for our players to be in that stadium and to feel what that fan base feels like and looks like and what Beaver Stadium looks like, replicating that environment to the best of our ability before we step in and play a game next fall.”
