It was a good day at the office for former Penn Staters in the NFL.
Edge rusher Odafe Oweh signed a four-year, $100 million deal with the Washington Commanders, and wide receiver Jahan Dotson agreed to a two-year, $15 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
But neither could say that they are the highest-paid players at their position.
The honor belongs to a former Penn State special teamer.
Punter Jordan Stout has agreed to a three-year, $12.3 million contract to join the New York Giants, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The deal makes Stout the highest-paid punter in the NFL at $4.1 million per season, $50,000 more annually than Michael Dickson of the Seattle Seahawks.
Stout reunites with John Harbaugh, who joined the Giants after being fired by the Ravens after 18 seasons in Baltimore.
The 27-year-old punter was a First-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2025.
He averaged a career-best 50.1 yards per punt (5th in the NFL) and 44.9 net yards per punt (1st) in 17 games. Stout has only had one punt blocked in his career and none in the past two seasons.
Stout kicked 45.3% of his punts inside the opposing 20-yard line.
A fourth-round pick by the Ravens in the 2022 NFL Draft, Stout kicked and punted while at Penn State.
He began his career at Virginia Tech in 2018 before transferring to Happy Valley. Stout averaged 44.5 yards per punt as PSU’s primary punter from 2020-21.
He served as the Nittany Lions’ kicker in 2021 and finished 16-for-23 (69.6%).
Stout earned 2021 First-Team All-Big Ten honors and the Eddelman-Fields Big Ten Punter of the Year Award.
The NFL legal tampering period officially began at noon on Monday, leading into the 2026 league year on Wednesday.
