After receiving good news today about the Penn State men’s basketball program re-signing Ivan Juric and signing two professional international players in Roko Prkacin and Francois Wibaut, it is now reported that freshman forward, Mason Blackwood, is entering the transfer portal when it opens on Tuesday, April 7.

Blackwood makes the third Nittany Lion to enter the transfer portal.

Freshman, Melih Tunca, first announced his intentions to leave State College and then Freddie Dilione V. announced his plans to play elsewhere.

Blackwood was a rotational player this season for Penn State and showed flashes of good play for a promising PSU career.

He ended up averaging 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.2 minutes played per game.

Blackwood’s best game this year was against Wisconsin when he scored a career-high 14 points and hauled down six rebounds.

The Rochester, New York native was nationally overall ranked No. 108 coming out of the state of New Hampshire. He played his first two seasons of high school ball for the Aquinas Institute of Rochester and then finished his high school years playing for the New Hampton Prep School in New Hampshire.
