Penn State didnโ€™t expect to be here as of last week but here it is, getting ready to play Oregon.

As of seven days ago, it looked like the Big Ten title game would surely pit No. 1 Oregon against No. 2 Ohio State.

But Ohio State couldnโ€™t seal the deal as a three-touchdown home favorite against hated Michigan, and because Penn State did its job against Maryland, its Penn State, not Ohio State, thatโ€™s playing for the Big Ten title.

Itโ€™s Penn Stateโ€™s first appearance in the conference championship game since 2016, when it beat Wisconsin in a 35-31 classic.

Who knows what will happen Saturday night but as of game day, Penn State is the underdog.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

Oregon receivers Tez Johnson (No. 15) and Traeshon Holden (No. 1) have helped Dillon Gabriel flourish at Oregon.

Oregon is a 3.5-point favorite per FanDuel Sportsbook. Itโ€™s only the second time this season that Penn State has been an underdog, the first time being at home against Ohio State Nov. 2. That game is also the only one Penn State lost this season, dropping a 20-13 heartbreaker and fueling the narrative that Penn State canโ€™t beat elite competition.

Coach James Franklin and company have a chance to flip the script in Indy.
