UNIVERSITY PARK— Penn State is going to the Big Ten Championship Game.

The combination of Penn State beating Maryland 44-7, which was expected, and Michigan beating Ohio State, which wasn’t, has sent Penn State to Indianapolis for the first time since 2016 and the second time overall.

Drew Allar went 17-26 for 171 yards in a touchdown in what could be his last game in Beaver Stadium. Tyler Warren caught six passes for 68 yards and a TD, and added a 29-yard run. Nicholas Singleton rushed for two touchdowns, gaining 87 yards on 13 carries.

Defensively, Abdul Carter had two sacks, making him the first Penn State player since Carl Nassib in 2025 to have double-digit sacks in a season.

Tyler Warren caught six passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.

The game didn’t get off to an optimal start for PSU. Nicholas Singleton fumbled on the first play, which Maryland’s  Tommy Akingbesote recovered at the Penn State 25.

One play later, Maryland took the lead on a 25-yard TD pass from backup QB MJ Morris to Kaden Prather.

The Nittany Lions got a field goal on its next possession, with the help of a 66-yard kickoff return by Singleton which set Penn State up at the Maryland 32.

It remained 7-3 into the second quarter. A little more than two minutes in, Singleton scored on a 2-yard run that ended a 13-play, 60-yard 5:32 drive which took 5:32.

On the ensuing possession, the Nittany lions got a fourth-down stop which set the offense up at the Maryland 30. Three plays later, QB Drew Allar scored his fifth rushing TD of the season on a 1-yard sneak that put Penn State up by double digits.

The Nittany Lions continued to pour it on. Allar and Tyler Warren did this, and soon after, Singleton scored his second TD to make it a three-score game.

Penn State added one more score in the second half with a 7-yard pass from Allar to Warren. That touchdown made Warren the all-time leader in TD receptions amongst Penn State TEs.

In the fourth quarter, Singleton’s second TD of the day made it 37-7, with Barker’s fifth PAT making it 38. With the second and many of the third group in the game, Pribula found Tyseer Denmark for a 15-yard touchdown strike to cap the scoring at 44 and send the Nittany Lions to Indianapolis.

Penn State will play Oregon Saturday night, Dec. 7, on Fox. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
