Philadelphia Eagles running back and former Penn State star Saquon Barkley and his family were unharmed following an attempted burglary at their Chester County home early Saturday morning.
According to the Tredyffrin Township Police Department, officers responded shortly after 5 a.m. to a report of a burglary in progress. At least one suspect reportedly entered the residence while Barkley and his family were inside, but the suspects fled before police arrived.
Capt. Tyler Moyer said the family was safe following the incident, although understandably shaken.
“Our main concern is that the residents of that home at the time were unharmed, which they were,” Moyer told reporters.

The Chester County District Attorney’s Office said county detectives are assisting with the investigation and asked nearby residents to review security-camera footage from around 5 a.m. Saturday.
Authorities are also investigating whether the incident could be connected to organized groups that have targeted professional athletes in recent years. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow are among the NFL players whose homes have previously been burglarized.
