Josh Reed, one of Penn State’s best all-around players from the 2025-2026 season and the only senior on the team, is now back in State College for his fifth collegiate year.
The 6′-8″ do-it-all forward was one of the first student-athletes in the country to be part of an injunction in Ohio against the NCAA stating that student athletes from the High School Class of 2022 should be allowed a fifth season of eligibility after the NCAA in June instituted a new age-based eligibility model called the “5-in-5 Clock” granting a max of five years of playing eligibility.
Reed graduated this past Spring from Penn State with a Master’s in Business Administration degree after only exhausting four years of college.
He spent his first three seasons at Cincinnati.
Earlier this month, Judge Charlotte Sweeney of the U.S. District Court of Colorado granted a class-wide preliminary injunction requiring the NCAA to declare athletes from the high school class of 2022 eligible for this upcoming season.

Last year, Reed was a starter throughout the season and finished the year averaging 11.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 49% from the floor.
Nittany Sports Now interviewed Reed back in June who told NSN that his playing days were over and that he was currently working for the Philadelphia 76ers on the business side of basketball.
