Versatile Penn State tight end Khalil Dinkins is receiving his opportunity to prove himself in the pros.
Dinkins wasn’t drafted this weekend, but signed with an NFL West team to compete during camp.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the San Francisco 49ers are signing Dinkins to an undrafted free agent contract. The deal includes $275,000 guaranteed.
A redshirt senior in 2025, Dinkins was a key blocker for Penn State during his five-year PSU career.
Dinkins started 15 games over the last two years, including Penn State’s run to the College Football Playoff semifinals.
He caught 14 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games (nine starts).
Over his PSU career, Dinkins totaled 37 receptions, 399 yards, and seven touchdowns.
Dinkins emerged as Penn State’s lead blocking tight end the past two years and helped pave the way for four-year starter Kaytron Allen to break the all-time rushing record.
He was voted All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by coaches and media members in 2025.
