This weekend, State College will be the center of the college football world as No. 3 Penn State will take on No. 4 Ohio State in a matchup that has both Big 10 and college football playoff implications.
With this being such a marquee matchup, the Penn State football coaching staff will be hosting a number of blue-chip recruits. In fact, Nittany Sports Now is reporting that over 150+ recruit from all over the country will be at Beaver Stadium on Saturday.
One of the players that received an invite to attend is Hopewell junior kicker Rocco Marcantonio.
Marcantonio is one of the top kickers in the state of Pennsylvania and is definitely on the radar of the Nittany Lions staff.
Penn State assistant coach and ace recruiter Terry Smith was at Hopewell High School recently to check in on Marcantonio and extended him this great opportunity.
Penn State isn’t the only major program looking at this talented kicker.
Last week, Marcantonio, along with five of his Hopewell teammates received an invite from the Pitt staff to come to Acrisure Stadium for their Thursday night matchup against Syracuse. Pitt doubled down on that and asked him to come back for the huge upcoming matchup against Clemson.
Marcantonio opened the eyes of many college coaches and got on their recruiting radar after finishing up a tremendous junior season in which he was 30 of 31 on PAT attempts and 9 of 13 on field goal attempts, including a long of 55 yards.
Aside from being an excellent kicker, Marcantonio is also a top-notch soccer player as well. This past season, Rocco was selected as a first-team All-Section player.
