Penn State has a chance for a signature win against Washington Saturday afternoon at Husky Stadium.
No, Washington isn’t an elite team, and in fact hasn’t met preseason expectations.
Like Penn State, Washington started the year in the top 20 (Washington was No. 17, Penn State was No. 18 in the first AP Poll).
Both teams have struggled in the Big Ten. Penn State is 1-4 in conference play (5-4 overall), and Washington is 2-3 (5-3 overall). But both have had happier days as of late. Penn State got its first Big Ten win of the Matt Campbell era by pounding Purdue 31-17 last weekend. Washington’s won two straight, both on the road against Purdue and Nebraska.
Both teams would secure bowl elgibility with a win.
HOW’S THE WEATHER?
Seattle is known for rain, but it isn’t supposed to rain during PSU-Washington. The weather is actually pretty solid for November, with temperatures hovering around 60 during gametime. If this game were being played in Beaver Stadium, temperatures would be in the 40s. That’s Big Ten football, baby. Instead, Penn State will be playing in pretty much perfect conditions as far as November football is concerned, and the fans in attendance should see a good football game. Washington is fav0red by 2.5 per FanDuel Sportsbook, which is essentially a push if you believe that the home team gets three points.
