Penn State football recruiting is in a good place right now.
In the last 7 days, Penn State has added 6 high level recruits to their Class of 2025 in 4-star defensive end Max Granville, 4-star athlete Braswell Thomas, 4-star defensive end Cortez Harris, 4-star running back Jabree Wallace-Coleman. 3-star safety Antonio Branch Jr. and 4-star defensive back Jahmir Joseph.
Considering that success, it’s no surprise that the Nittany Lions have soared up the 2025 Team Recruiting Rankings.
Entering this morning, Rivals.com has Penn State ranked No. 5 in the country behind just Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
The question is who will be the next player to join James Franklin’s program?
Monday night, a 3-star defensive back announced on Twitter that he would be making a commitment on Tuesday and listed Penn State as a finalist.
2025 3-star cornerback Aydan West from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland stated that tonight at 7 PM, he would be choosing between West Virginia, Michigan State, Duke, Cincinnati, Virginia, Wake Forest and Penn State. Other schools that extended an offer to West are Virginia Tech, Toledo, Pitt, Maryland, Marshall, East Carolina, Boston College and Memphis.
Over the last couple of months, West (6’0″, 185-pounds) has taken five official visits- Michigan State, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Virginia and Wake Forest.

Despite listing Penn State as a finalist, Nittany Sports Now has learned that Penn State hasn’t actively recruited West in some time, so he won’t be joining the Penn State football recruiting class.
Keep in mind, Penn State has already added 4 players to Terry Smith’s unit for 2025 in 3-star cornerback Xxavier Thomas (Pittsburgh Central Catholic), 4-star cornerback Daryus Dixson (California), Jahmir Joseph (New Jersey) and Antonio Branch Jr. (Miami, Florida).
When looking to forecast what position Penn State could be adding next for 2025, wide receiver and defensive tackle are high on the priority list.
