Penn State wrestling legend Bo Nickal made the most of his opportunity.
Fighting at UFC Freedom 250, held on the White House lawn, Nickal took care of Kyle Dukaus in just 4:34, earning congratulations from President Donald Trump afterwards.
He is now 9-1 overall in his professional career and 6-1 in the UFC, having won four of his fights via knockout or technical knockout and four more via submission.
Nickal has won his last two fights after suffering his first pro loss last May via knockout to Reiner de Ridder, who is a top 10 middleweight in the UFC.
The broadcast predicted that Nickal’s next fight would be against top 15 competition, which would get a lot of eyes watching.
Nickal is one of the best in the history of arguably the most dominant dynasty in college sports— Penn State wrestling. He won three national titles, was a four-time All-American and the winner of the Hodge Trophy, which is wrestling’s Heisman. He plans to make his UFC career even more dominant, and although he’s still relatively new to the sport, when he fights, it feels like a big deal, and he had the President’s attention long before UFC Freedom 250.
“You have somebody fighting Bo tonight,” Trump said in July 2023. “He was at the White House. He was with (United States Representative) Jim Jordan. Jim Jordan was a great wrestler. He was an NCAA champion. He brought all of the championship wrestlers in their divisions to the White House.
