Penn State has landed yet another Class of 2025 defensive back.

Early Wednesday evening, Antonio Branch Jr. a four-star safety from Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, Florida, announced his commitment.

In doing so, Branch joins blue-chips Daryus Dixson and Jahmir Joseph— both CBs— as defensive backs to commit to Penn State within the past 10 days.

Penn State has had the 6-foot-2, 172-pounder on its radar all summer, having offered him on the last day of April. He took his official visit on the last weekend of May and had planned to take OVs to Florida and Louisville, too. But he cancelled his Florida OV, scheduled for the weekend of June 14, and presumably won’t be visiting Louisville this weekend of June 21-23, either. Before the Penn State visit, Branch took an OV to Nebraska the weekend of April 26.

A big part of landing Branch was the work of safeties coach Anthony Poindexter, but Branch also told Blue-White Illustrated that he and running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider— who has established a recruiting presence, including in his home state of Florida.

“What stands out for them is the relationship I have with them,” Branch said after his OV. “Me and Coach Seider send each other reels all day and are cracking up, so yeah, that’s my guy. Me and Coach Pointdexter are on the phone every week. I actually got to meet his family this weekend, so that was great.”

Branch used the word “great” again when describing his OV with Lions247.

“It was great, with three T’s,” Branch said. “The coaching staff is hilarious.”

Branch is the first safety to commit to Penn State’s ‘25 class and the fourth DB.
