Penn State is doing its best to replenish depth at cornerback after losing Storm Duck to Louisville in the transfer portal.
On Wednesday, Mississippi State transfer cornerback Audavion Collins tweeted that he had received an offer from Penn State.

Collins (6-foot-0, 165 pounds) didn’t see any game action in 2022 for Mississippi State and entered the transfer portal April 24.
Collins played high school football at Newton High School in Covington, Georgia, where he was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2022. He was the No. 96 player in Georgia, the No. 83 cornerback, and the No. 925 player nationally according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings.
Collins is an intriguing prospect with him not playing at all last season. He’s is virtually a freshman, but he had the benefit of practicing with an SEC school. He’s 165 pounds and a bit raw, but he could provide quality depth behind projected starters Kalen King and Johnny Dixon.
Collins would also benefit from learning under cornerbacks coach Terry Smith, who knows how to get cornerbacks from the SEC. Recently, he helped land Dixon from South Carolin in the transfer portal before the 2021 season.
Also this week, Penn State offered Donovan Callis (6-foot, 160-pounds), a D-II cornerback transfer from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
Callis recently finished his junior season, which gives him at least a year of eligibility.
He’s still eligible to be redshirted, which he was set to do in 2020 before the pandemic cancelled the season and gave everyone an extra year of eligibility.
Callis has received seven offers since joining the transfer portal April 15— the day it opened— with Penn State being the only power-five school to offer him thus far. He’s also received offers from Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Miami (OH), Murray State, Utah State and North Dakota State.
