Donovan Callis (6-foot, 160-pounds) a D-II cornerback transfer from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, has received an offer to play at Penn State. Callis just finished his junior season, which gives him at least a year of eligibility.

He’s still eligible to be redshirted as he was set to do in 2020 before the pandemic cancelled the season and gave everyone an extra year of eligibility.
He’s coming off a season in which he received a Great American Conference second-team nod. Last year, he made 32 tackles (1.5 for loss), broke up seven passes, forced three fumbles, recovered two fumbles and had two interceptions.
He’s played in 27 games at the collegiate level and came from Colony High School in Texas, but he lists Los Angeles, California as his hometown.
The defensive backfield is deep for Penn State, but with the loss of Storm Duck to Louisville, it looks like coach James Franklin is searching for another veteran to be rotated in the secondary.
He’s received seven offers since joining the transfer portal April 15 with Penn State being the only power-five school to offer him thus far. He’s also received offers from Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Miami (OH), Murray State, Utah State and North Dakota State.
