One of Penn State’s most sought after defensive back prospects in the NCAA Transfer Portal is now leaving after less than four months with the team.
Cornerback Storm Duck has re-entered his name into the portal after enrolling at Penn State in January.
Blue-White Illustrated’s Sean Fitz was the first to report the news Friday morning.
He committed to join the Nittany Lions in December as a transfer from North Carolina. The 6-foot, 190-pounder will have one year of eligibility remaining wherever he chooses to complete his collegiate career.
Duck entered spring practice behind veterans Kalen King and Johnny Dixon after the departure of Joey Porter Jr. Despite being down on the depth chart, he impressed the Penn State coaching staff due to his experience.
Duck posted 46 tackles, 10 pass deflections and three interceptions, which was tied for the third-most in the ACC, in his final stint with North Carolina in 2022.
The Boiling Springs, South Carolina, native compiled 103 tackles and five interceptions during his four seasons with the Tar Heels. He played in 13 games, making nine starts, as a freshman before injuries greatly impacted the ensuing two years.
