Report: Michigan State Could Be Without 20 players, 6-8 Starters against Penn State

Michigan State had injury problems before its 56-7 loss to Ohio State, had more issues during it and now, apparently, has been hindered by sickness.

Brett McMurphy, formerly of ESPN and now “America’s College Football Insider” with The Action Network, tweeted Friday evening that a flu bug has hit the Spartans and that, combined with injuries, could keep as many as 20 players and six-to-eight starters sidelined Saturday.

The Nittany Lions have had their flu-related issues, with 21 guys out for last week’s win over Rutgers and 14 more playing sick. This year’s battle for the Land Grant Trophy kicks off at 3:30 on ABC.
