Penn State Football lost a host of commitments in the wake of head coach James Franklin’s firing. One week removed from the announcement, just six of the 24 original recruits in the class remain fully committed.
Most of the rest of the recruits are maintaining some sort of tie to Penn State’s football program, however; even if they’ve made it clear that they’re going to listen to what other schools have to offer during this transitory period, they haven’t fully decommitted yet. Four-star outside linebacker Terry Wiggins (Coatesville, Pa.) is another player starting to receive heavy interest from other schools, as he’s posted offers from Vanderbilt and WVU since Franklin’s firing.
Offensive tackle Marlen Bright has announced that he will listen to offers from other schools as well, and four-star DB Jaziel Hart has de-committed. Quarterback Troy Huhn was another notable athlete to decommit.
That leaves the final six remaining commitments who haven’t made any update to their recruiting status, listed below.
- Four-star EDGE Jackson Ford – Malvern Prep – Phoenixville, Pa.
- Four-star EDGE Tyson Harley – Gonzaga – Washington, D.C.
- Four-star TE Pierce Petersohn – Triton – Dodge Center, Minn.
- Three-star OT Jack Fuchs – Beech – Hendersonville, Tenn.
- Three-star DL Alexander Haskell – St. Joseph’s Prep – Philadelphia
- Three-star P Adam McCann-Gibbs – Abbey CBS Grammar School – Newry, Northern Ireland, U.K.
