Where does Penn State stand with North Cobb (Kennesaw, GA) quarterback Teddy Jarrard?
The Nittany Lions will find out, along with his other suitors, for certain later this week on July 24 when the four-star quarterback makes his decision.
Penn State is jockeying against Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Georgia for his services.
Following Jarrard’s official visit to Happy Valley on June 8, he summarized his visit.
“Coach (Danny) O’Brien as well as (Trace) McSorley is up there now. They along with Coach (James) Franklin have all been great with quarterbacks,” Jarrard said. “They’re not very transfer portal heavy which is another big thing at the quarterback position. They’re a good school that would develop me as a quarterback and I can go in and play.”
Currently, Jarrard is the No. 2 quarterback in the Class of 2027 per Rivals.
The current crystal ball predictions by many recruiting analysts don’t favor Penn State landing Jarrard, as many point to Notre Dame as the likely landing spot for Jarrard.
Industry insiders have indicated the push from Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame has not been matched, not even by his in-state team Georgia.
While there is time between now and Thursday, it will be interesting to see if quarterbacks coach Danny O’Brien, analyst Trace McSorley, and head coach James Franklin make any push for Jarrard to sway his decision.
