UNIVERSITY PARK— Wednesday’s weekly media practice viewing window was a mix of good news and bad news for Penn State fans: one star practiced, another wasn’t seen.
QB Drew Allar, who got hurt late in the second quarter of Penn State’s 28-13 win at Wisconsin this past Saturday night and didn’t return to the game, practiced and, if you didn’t know any better, you wouldn’t know he was hurt.
On the other side of the ball, star defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton, who also got hurt in the second quarter with an apparent groin injury, wasn’t seen during the media’s viewing window, which lasted roughly 15 minutes.

IF ALLAR CAN’T GO

All signs are that Allar will play Saturday. But if for some reason he can’t go or is limited, Beau Pribula will be Penn State’s No. 1 QB. If last Saturday night is any indication, Penn State could be a lot worse off. Pribula not only held down the fort for Penn State, he was flat out good, completing 11 of 13 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in the second half. Pribula has been used in each of Penn State’s seven games, a “Swiss Army Knife” that has been used at QB, RB and receiver at certain points.
Even if Allar were 100% healthy, it’d be a slam dunk bet that Pribula would be used in some form against Ohio State.
IF DDS IS MIA

Dani Dennis-Sutton comes up with a first quarter sack of Michigan’s JJ McCarthy.
Not having Dennis-Sutton against Ohio State would be a big deal. He’s a man many project to be a first-round pick in 2025. With that said, Penn State has options at defensive end. Amin Vanover (fourth-year) and Smith Vilbert (fifth-year) are each capable, and true freshman Max Granville is a player many are excited about.
Granville played in just one of Penn State’s first six game— 13 snaps in a 56-0 demolition of Kent State— but got 10 snaps at Wisconsin after Dennis-Sutton went down. Coach James Franklin said Monday that Granville is a player Penn State would be ready to use despite Penn State ideally wanting him to keep his redshirt status.
Penn State and Ohio State are scheduled to kick off at noon on Fox Saturday at Beaver Stadium.
