In terms of things that Penn State can control, not much went wrong during PSU’s 34-12 season-opening win at West Virginia last Saturday and now will take on Bowling Green
Penn State doesn’t control the weather, and the weather presented problems for both teams.
PSU got the job done at West Virginia and, barring something crazy, will get the job done against Bowling Green, too.
But once again, the weather is slated to make for a less than idyllic experience at this year’s home opener. This is, for fans who like to get up bright and early to tailgate. As of this writing, the rain is supposed to stop before kickoff and not start back up all day.
Good news, Penn State fans.

Rain or shine, Penn State will look to get more production from its WR corps outside of Harrison Wallace III.
Although Wallace (5 catches, 117 yards, two touchdowns all in the first half) played well enough by himself to give fans positive feelings about the receivers, the only WR outside of him to catch a pass was Omari Evans (two catches, 55 yards). If QB Drew Allar can spread the ball around to other receivers such as Liam Clifford and Julian Fleming, that will be an encouraging sign for the room going forward.
Defensively, Penn State could be in danger of giving up a big play or two against an offense that rushed for 305 yards in a 41-17 win over Fordham last Thursday. But Penn State is not Fordham.
More than 100,000 people will be in Beaver Stadium Saturday. For those who won’t be, here’s How to Watch and listen to the game.
Also, here’s some betting info if you’re into that.
Penn State covered the spread in nine of its 10 wins last season and covered at West Virginia.
If you’re into this sort of thing, here are some betting lines for Penn State-Bowling Green.
