Caleb Brewer comes from a Penn State town.
Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, is near Reading, and that area has been kind to Penn State over the past two seasons.
“Everyone loves Penn State,” J’ven Williams told Nittany Sports Now in May 2022 when he was a junior at Wyomissing.
Williams was committed to Penn State at the time and ended up signing in December. The next December, one of his fellow offensive linemen followed suit. Like Williams, who was a state champ in track, Brewer stood out in two sports at Wyomissing, being an all-state wrestler as well.
But football is Brewer’s best sport, and he’s the latest subject of All 105, a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State player.
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 279 pounds
Hometown: Reading, Pennsylvania
Before Penn State: Brewer helped Wyomissing to a combined 29-2 record in his last two seasons with two district championships. He was a force on both offense and defense, earning all-league honors on both sides and being named the league’s lineman of the year. A consensus three-star prospect, Brewer committed to Penn State in April 2023.
Where he stands: With Penn State having a deep offensive line, it’s likely that Brewer will redshirt his freshman season. But he’ll have his chances to impress Penn State’s coaching staff throughout the weeks.
A quote by Brewer: “I learned how much coach Franklin is invested in academics and players succeeding in life, not just in football. I really liked that,” Brewer told Blue-White Illustrated. “He was basically saying that kids will get their masters before they [leave Penn State]. He said that if you come here, then you are getting your degree. I really liked that, because education is important to me.” — Brewer to Blue-White Illustrated.
A quote about Brewer: “I could see him as a guard or as a defensive tackle. He plays with such physicality and a nastiness. One thing I love is that he always finishes. Sometimes he’ll play through the whistle. As long as he doesn’t get called for it, I love it. When you watch his highlights, he also does a great job blocking one guy and then transitioning to the next.” — Wyomissing line coach Steven O’Neill to BWI on Brewer.
