Penn State Letterman Named High School Coach in Illinois

Former Penn State kicker Robbie Gould has transitioned from player to coach. 

According to Chicago Sun-Times reporter Michael O’Brien, the former NFL kicker is now a head coach in the state where he spent the majority of his pro career. 

Gould is the new head coach of Rolling Meadows High School in Illinois. He played 11 seasons with the Chicago Bears from 2005-2015. He finished his career with the Giants (2016) and went to the Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers (2017-2022).

The 41-year-old from Jersey Shore, PA, is 10th on the NFL’s all-time scoring list. He clinched a Pro Bowl and All-Pro nod in 2006. 

Gould kicked at Penn State from 2001 to 2004. He made 39 of 61 (64%) of his field goals in four seasons and 115 of 121 extra points. Gould’s best season as a Nittany Lion came in 2002 when he converted 17 of 22 field goals and 42 of 45 extra points.
