A Class of 2024 four-star defensive lineman has de-committed from Central Florida and has Penn State in his new top five.
Penn State’s a finalist for Sincere Edwards, a 6-foot-3, 240-pounder from Wekiva High School in Apopka, Florida.
Edwards tweeted his de-commitment Wednesday afternoon.

Interestingly enough, UCF is also among the schools in the top five.
The list consists of Maryland, Penn State, Pitt, UCF, USF. So Edwards is choosing between two schools in his home state, PSU and two schools that Penn State football has a long history with. Penn State and Maryland played annually while the schools were independents, and have resumed their series since Maryland rejoined the Big Ten ahead of the 2014 season. Penn State’s history with Pitt is self explanatory.
Edwards is a top target in the class, and he certainly hasn’t lacked offers, as Arkansas, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Colorado, Duke, FAU, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Maryland, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Ole Miss, USF and Utah have all extended offers.
He committed to UCF last August, but he wants to be sure he knows exactly where he will be attending — without any doubt — before his senior season at Wekiva kicks off.
Edwards told NSN’s sister site, Pittsburgh Sports Now that “de-committing is the right decision because I want to focus strictly on my senior year of high school and go through it with a breeze.”
“I don’t want to stress about me being committed and me wondering if I’m really committed to the school,” he said. “So until I really make a real thorough decision, I’ll be de-committed.”
