Blue-White weekend is here, and it will culminate with the Penn State football’s annual spring game Saturday afternoon in Beaver Stadium.
The game will be played in a traditional format this season.
Last year, due largely to a lack of healthy bodies on the offensive line, coach James Franklin decided to have the game be played with an offense/defense scoring system.
This year, it will be Blue against White, which is how most people want it to be. Take a look at the rosters here.
The game will be played with the traditional four quarters, but the quarters will last 11 minutes and not 15. The game will be played under a running clock with the only exceptions being for possession changes and penalties, plus timeouts, of which each team will have two. The last two minutes of each half will be played like a normal college football game from a time standpoint.
There are plenty of quality players to watch for Penn State today. Drew Allar is projected to be Penn State’s starting quarterback, and Penn State fans will see a lot from the sophomore who was a five-star recruit out of Medina, Ohio. Franklin says the team has an open competition at quarterback.
Although Allar is the heavy favorite to get the job, eyes will be on Allar’s classmate, Beau Pribula. Pribula, the Pride of York, PA, is projected to be Allar’s top backup after being the fourth-stringer last season.
For those who won’t be in Beaver Stadium today, here’s how to watch and listen to the game.
