This is one my favorite interviews I’ve ever done in 11 years on the radio. It’s with my good friend Luke Hetrick, a Hollidaysburg native and Saint Francis alum who’s now a TV sports broadcaster in Orlando.
Luke was with me for nearly a year on my old radio show as “Intern Boy,” then he branched out and got a Master’s degree from Sacred Heart before embarking on a sports broadcasting career in Georgia and now Florida.
I’m from Arkansas, then moved to Virginia and finally to Pennsylvania. So Luke and I have a lot in common when it comes to finding our own path, not only in the sports media business, but also in our personal lives.
In this interview, Luke and I discuss the value in getting out and seeing the country, finding your own path, experiencing different things and different cultures — all with a sports angle and how it can help you see things a little differently.
This clip is from my show, “Sports Central with Cory Giger,” which airs weekdays from 3-4 p.m. on WRTA in Altoona.
