It’s been almost two years since Penn State wrestling legend Jason Nolf retired.
Since then, Real American Freestyle has launched, and Nolf has been a part of it.
He was on the first card a year ago in Cleveland, losing to Evan Wick.
A year later, he beat Wick for the RAF Middleweight Championship, and talked exclusively with Nittany Sports Now after the bout. Nolf is 30 and will be 32 when the next U.S. Olympic Trials roll around. So, realistically, he’s young enough to compete for an Olympic spot if he wants one.
But as of now, he has no plans to do that.

Nolf wouldn’t be the first Penn Stater to come out of retirement.
His former teammate, Zain Retherford, transitioned into a coaching role with Nittany Lion Wrestling Club after the 2024 Olympics and returned to the world stage earlier this year.
The comeback has gone well for Retherford, who will be competing at the Senior World Championships in Kazakhstan this fall.
