Aiden Fink’s move from Penn State standout to signed NHL prospect has quickly turned into a Nashville moment worth watching.
The junior forward officially signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Nashville Predators on April 13, giving the organization another young talent to evaluate as the season winds down. Nashville announced the deal Monday, while Penn State noted Fink became the 15th Nittany Lion in program history to sign an NHL contract and the third this year to do so.
Now, Fink is already on the scene in Tennessee. According to Nashville Predators radio announcer Max Herz of 102.5 The Game in Nashville, Fink was in Nashville at practice and wearing No. 18 alongside fellow rookie Max Wood. That detail added immediate intrigue for Predators fans eager to get a first look at one of the most productive players in Penn State hockey history.
Fink arrives with real momentum. After the conclusion of his Penn State season, he joined the Milwaukee Admirals on an amateur tryout and made an instant impact. Penn State reported that he posted 10 points in his first six AHL games, including three goals and seven assists, with a four-assist performance in just his second appearance. His offensive touch and puck management helped define a stellar college career.
By the time he left Happy Valley, Fink had piled up 125 career points on 48 goals and 77 assists, tying him for third on Penn State’s all-time scoring list. He also became the fastest Nittany Lion ever to reach 100 career points, doing so in only 87 games. For Nashville, that production, combined with his early pro success, makes Fink an especially compelling young player to follow right now. If he earns game action soon, No. 18 could become a fresh symbol of the Predators’ youth movement.
