Penn State held its first major early-summer recruiting weekend under Matt Campbell, and the timing could not have been much better for the Nittany Lions as they look to add two major pieces to their 2027 class.
Both 247Sports and On3 have logged predictions for Penn State to land Pine-Richland wide receiver Khalil Taylor, one of the top prospects in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, several recruiting insiders believe Prattville (Ala.) wide receiver DeShawn Hall could be next in line for a Penn State prediction.
247Sports issued its Crystal Ball prediction for Taylor after reporting that he canceled official visits to Alabama and Nebraska.
Hall also made the trip to State College for an official visit, giving Penn State a chance to make a strong impression on another coveted receiver target.
Hall caught 40 passes for 660 yards, averaging 16.5 yards per catch, with five touchdowns in 10 games as a junior after transferring to Prattville.
Taylor is rated as the No. 4 prospect in Pennsylvania, according to the 247Sports Composite. Last season at Pine-Richland, he caught 33 passes for 571 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Penn State already has wide receiver commitments from Landon Blum of Woodbine, Iowa, and fast-rising Alcoa, Tenn., prospect Jamir Dean.
Landing both Taylor and Hall would be a major recruiting win for Campbell and new wide receivers coach Kashif Moore, who replaced Noah Pauley earlier this year after Pauley left to become the Green Bay Packers’ wide receivers coach.
