Penn State Football missed out on legacy recruit Samson Gash, a four-star receiver out of Novi, Mich. whose father, Sam, played for the Nittany Lions from 1987 to 1991. Gash signed with Michigan State, who he initially committed to over the summer, on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
The six foot tall, 185 pound target picked up close to two dozen Division I offers. Penn State was late to the party, offering him on Dec. 9 after new head coach Matt Campbell took over, but those family ties made them a legitimate contender.

Instead, they’ll have to face him in the Big Ten on a semiannual basis. Gash amassed 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns in his senior season and won a Michigan state championship in the 100-meter dash, possessing the speed to take the top off of defenses.
247Sports ranks Gash as the No. 283 recruit in his class. Click here for more Penn State recruiting news.
