Penn State football has added another member to its 2026 recruiting class, and this one is a linebacker.
Keian Kaiser, a three-star LB from Nebraska’s Sidney High School, announced via X on Christmas Eve that he had been offered by Penn State and decided to commit to Penn State.
Initially, Kaiser had been signed to Matt Campbell and Iowa State. But after Campbell took the Penn State job, Kaiser requested a release from his letter of intent and reopened his recruitment.
Ultimately, Kaiser decided to join six fellow former Iowa State signees and commit to Penn State, making him the first linebacker commit in this new-look class.
Penn State only had two players sign during the Early Signing Period, before the program hired Campbell. Now, it has nine.
Kaiser is the third player to commit to the Penn State recruiting class within the last 24 hours.
On Christmas Eve Eve, Penn State picked up commits from a pair of offensive linemen in Pete Eglitis (Columbus, Ohio) and Mason Bandhauer (Fort Collins, Colorado), each of which were three stars that had been signed to Iowa State.
Kaiser also had offers from Minnesota and Lindenwood along with Iowa State and Penn State.
He also a standout in Track & Field, as detailed by 247Sports.
“Recorded a 6-foot high jump, a 37-0.5 shot put rep, and a 102-8 discus rep as a junior in March 2025, per MileSplit,” wrote 247. “As a sophomore, placed fourth in the Nebraska Class B high jump finals with a rep of 6-4 in Spring 2024. Freshman bests included a 17.42 110-meter hurdles time, a 44.60 300-meter hurdles rep, and a 6-1 high jump in Spring 2023.”
Another question is who will be coaching Kaiser.
It’s not confirmed yet whether Dan Conner will be back at LB coach for Penn State.
National Signing Day is scheduled for Feb. 4.
