Penn State football has already done more to address the receiver position in the transfer portal than it did last offseason but could another one be coming in?
Noah Thomas, a 6-foot-6, 200-pounder who previously played at Texas A&M, entered the portal earlier this week.
Although Penn State already has two receivers committedโ Kyron Hudson (USC) and Devonte Ross (Troy), Thomas is a name worth paying attention to.
Thomas put up solid numbers for A&M this past season, gaining 574 yards and scoring eight touchdowns on 39 receptions. This equated to 14.7 yards per reception, and Penn State considers an explosive passing play to be 15 yards.
SIZE MATTERS

Something that will stick out to Penn State fans about Thomas is his height and size. Neither Hudson (6-foot-1, 204 pounds) or Ross (5-foot-11, 161 pounds) are close to where Thomas is in height. Penn State also doesnโt have any receivers on the current roster above 6-foot-2, and the one 6-foot-2 guy, Julian Fleming, is out of eligibility following this season. So, yeah, Thomas would add a new element for Penn State out of the transfer portal.
HOW REALISTIC IS IT?

So how realistic is it for Thomas to end up at Penn State? Itโs always possible but right now, it seems like other schools are ahead.
“Sources tell On3โs Steve Wiltfong and I expect Miami, Texas and Georgia to be in the mix for wide receiver Noah Thomas,” Pete Nakos of On3Sports wrote. “The Aggies are doing everything they can to keep Thomas in the fold.”
Weโll see what happens.
No. 6 Penn State takes on No. 7 Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl Thursday, Jan. 9. Kickoff is scheduled to begin at 7:30.
