The Penn State offense has impressed many through six games, and per one of its linemen, the unit is just getting started, so football fans are in for a treat.
Under first-year coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, Penn State is scoring more than 34 points per game.
But what gets people talking isn’t that Penn State is scoring, it’s the way the team is doing it.
There aren’t a lot of offenses that would line up a near 350-pound guard in the slot or have a tight end line up at center before catching a touchdown pass. Kotelnicki implemented both of these things seven days apart.

And there’s much more to come.
‘A LOT MORE CRAZY STUFF
For offensive lineman Anthony Donkoh, Kotelnicki is “an offensive mastermind.”
“We have a lot more crazy stuff that we have in store that I can’t wait to actually run in the game,” Donkoh told reporters via Zoom Wednesday morning.
This lines up with what receiver Harrison Wallace III said after the team’s season opener, a 34-12 win at West Virginia.
“Ya’ll ain’t seen nothing,” Wallace said with a smile after the game. “That wasn’t even a third of what we have.”
WHAT’S NEXT?
If Penn State football had only used less than of its offense after Week 1, how much has it used through the halfway point? It’s hard to say for sure, and the way Kotelnicki’s mind seems to work, it’s possible that the players don’t even know. But one thing that’s for certain is that Kotelnicki will be looked at for head coaching vacancies at some point, maybe even this offseason.
But for now, Penn State and its fans will enjoy Kotelnicki. The next show is scheduled for 7:30 on NBC against Wisconsin in Madison.
