Penn State Wrestling: AJ Ferrari Calls Carter Starocci a ‘Classless Clown’ as Beef Continues

Penn State wrestling star Carter Starocci is never  boring.

So when AJ Ferrari called him out on social media, everybody who’s familiar with Starocci knew the four-time national champ was going to respond.

In a lengthy Instagram post Monday, Starocci challenged Ferrari- who won a national title at 197 pounds for Oklahoma State in 2021 and now is at Cal State Bakersfield— to a match at the NWCA All-Star Classic scheduled for Nov. 16 in Rec Hall.

“Winner takes the entire match purse. On top of that we each put up 300k. Winner takes all. Loser goes back to talking shit on social media.”

“And finally, when I win you must tattoo ‘Starocci is my NATTY DADDY in bold font on your chest. Or post in your bio for 665 days ‘sorry girls, please forgive me! I have changed.”

Starocci then finished it off.

“190 lbs,” he wrote. “You started it, I’ll finish it. agree to my terms and I’ll smash your face in.”

Just as inevitable as Starocci responding to Ferrari’s initial post was Ferrari continuing the beef.

“Has everyone seen this little punk kid named Carter post and caption?” Ferrari wrote Wednesday. “It has me dead 😂😂😂. What a classless clown 🤡. As seen recently in my respectful and simple call out, I warned Carter not to come up to 197 pounds in ncaa wrestling this season. And as expected Carter had a mental breakdown and went to IG showing how much of a clown 🤡 he is.”

After some more words, Ferrari ended the post with an offer.

“Sign the contract now— before the season starts— or after the season (you can’t do mma fights during season).

Sincerely,

Carter Starocci’s Father who will discipline him for his disrespect.”

Amid a sexual assault investigationin the summer of 2022 (the case was eventually dismissed),  Ferrari left the Oklahoma State wrestling team and never wrestled again for John Smith and the Cowboys.

He wrestled unattached in December 2023 and his match went down in infamy.

Now, Ferrari is back in the game. He’s competing at Cal State Bakersfield at 197 pounds. Although nothing is set in stone yet, there’s a chance Starocci moves up from 174 to 197 for Penn State wrestling.

If this match does happen— whether it’s at 190 as Starocci suggested or anywhere else— it would make the NWCA All-Star Classic must-see TV.
