Penn State saw plenty of Quinshon Judkins during its last game of the 2023 season, and thanks to the transfer portal, it’ll be seeing him again in 2024.
The Ole Miss back ran for 106 yards in the team’s 38-25 Peach Bowl win over PSU in Atlanta.
Days after that win, Judkins announced that he’d be entering the transfer portal after two seasons with Ole Miss.
It turns out that Judkins will be going to a place where, barring something unforeseen, he’ll play Penn State again in 2024. He announced late Monday night that he’ll be transferring to Ohio State. This is the second significant transfer portal commitment Ohio State has received in the past week, with former Kansas State QB Will Howard also committing.

Judkins burst onto the college football scene as a true freshman in 2022, rushing for more than 1,500 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging almost six parts per carry.
His numbers went down this past season, but Judkins still finished with more than 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging more then four yards per carry.
Penn State won’t need to get a running back out of the portal.
The team has Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen set to return for a third season.
Where Penn State does need help from the transfer portal is at receiver.
KeAndre Lambert-Smith (53 catches, 673 yards, four TD) put up respectable numbers. But he was the only Penn State WR who eclipsed 300 yards.
We already know that the receivers room in 2024 will look different. Days after Penn State football’s 2023 season ended with a Peach Bowl loss to Ole Miss, Dante Cephas entered the transfer portal. The same day, former Ohio State WR and PA kid Julian Fleming (Southern Columbia) ended weeks of speculation by announcing his commitment. Still, there’s work to be done for Penn State to supply QB Drew Allar with the talent necessary for him to build on his 2023 performance next season.
Penn State’s scheduled to play Ohio State Nov. 2 at Beaver Stadium.
