2024 4-Star OL William Satterwhite Looking Forward To A Return Visit to Penn State

Despite growing up in Akron, Ohio, William Satterwhite has always been a big fan of Penn State football.

So when he received an offer from Penn State in November, to say he was excited would be an understatement.

This weekend, Satterwhite is making a return visit to State College. He will attend Penn State’s Junior Day.

Satterwhite, who attends Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, is a 247 Sports Composite 4-star recruit and is seeing his recruitment grow by the day. At this point, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound interior lineman holds offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, Minnesota, Pitt, Wake Forest, West Virgina and Wisconsin.

Nittany Sports Now spoke with Satterwhite Thursday night and got his thoughts on where Penn State stands with him and where his recruitment stands in general.

“The biggest thing about this weekend’s visit is I want to see more of the campus,” Satterwhite said.  “On a game day visit, it’s really only about the game and seeing the players. I’ll also be able to talk with the Penn State coaches more and see more about what they have to offer.”

Satterwhite said his recruitment is “starting to pick up.”

”Over the past week it’s gotten sped up and serious for me and I could make a decision soon,” he said. “At the moment, the four schools that are talking to me the most and recruiting me hardest are Michigan State, Penn State, Cincinnati and Duke.”

Satterwhite says that his main recruiter at Penn State has been offensive line coach Phil Trautwein and he’s also heard a lot from James Franklin.

This was our first opportunity to speak with this talented lineman from Ohio, so we had to ask him about his early attraction to Penn State, considering he lives in the football rich state of Ohio.

“One of the biggest things that initially drew me to Penn State was their jersey concept,” said Satterwhite. “There’s nothing flashy about it and there’s no last names on the jerseys and that signifies no individuals and it’s all about one unit. That is unique and is something that stood out to me about Penn State.”

Satterwhite tells us that he’d like to make a decision before his senior season begins and that “right now, I’m trying to make as many trips as possible and give every school a fair chance before I start cutting schools out of the conversation.”

In terms of future visits, Satterwhite tells NSN that he will visit Michigan State next weekend but doesn’t have anything scheduled for after that.
