Penn State NIL 1st to be in Foreign Language

Penn State NIL Collective Succes With Honor will be the first NIL advertisement to be used in a foreign language thanks to a billboard in the French language in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

The four Penn State players on the Billboard are Theo Johnson, Malick Meiga, Jonathan Sutherland  and Christian Veilleux.

The billboard reads “L’Equipe locale Du Canada,” which translates to “Home Team of Canada,” and “Success Avec Honneur” which translates to “Success With Honor.”

The Success With Honor collective found a way for these four players, who are Canadian, to monetize their brands as international student-athletes can’t do that the same way domestic student-athletes can.

Student Athlete NIL, Success With Honor’s parent company, is running similar campaigns for international student-athletes in Australia, England, France, Indonesia and Ireland.

Student Athlete NIL CEO Jason Belzer talked to On3.com staff writer Jeremy Crabtree about finding creative ways to get international student-athletes an opportunity to capitalize on their brands and at the same time get exposure for the school.

“It’s a way to involve international student-athletes in NIL passively in their own countries, “Belzer said. “Not only are they promoting the collective, but the university is getting value at the same time.”

“We’re definitely the first to do it, and were the first NIL advertisement in a foreign language.”
