Four-star 2023 quarterback Marcus Stokes (6-foot-2, 185-pounds) has de-committed from Penn State in favor of Florida, he joins two other of Penn State’s top rated targets who chose another school over Penn State today.
That includes four-star running back Treyaun Webb (6-foot-1, 205-pounds), who also chose Florida today, and four-star wide receiver Cameron Seldon (6-foot-1, 220-pounds), who committed to Tennessee.

Stokes committed to Penn State back in April and announced on Twitter that his recruitment was shut down, saying he was 107% committed to Penn State.
Instead of Penn State, he chooses his top in-state program in Florida. Stokes plays for Nessie High School in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and is the No. 78 recruit in the state and No. 22 overall quarterback according to 247Sports composite.
Despite Stokes de-committing, the Penn State class of 2023 still ranks as the fifth best on 247Sports Composite. Stokes was the class’s only quarterback commitment, but the team is bringing in five-star quarterback Drew Allar in this year’s class who figures to be quarterback of the future.
As for the other two, Webb is the No. 5 running back in the country according to 247Sports Composite and the No. 33 player in the state of Florida. The website’s crystal ball was predicting Penn State. He took his officially visit to the school back on June 10.
Webb also took official visits to South Carolina (June 24) and Florida (June 3) prior to his commitment to the later. He is also commitment to his an in-state school, as he plays for Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida.
Seldom comes from Northumberland High School in Heathsville, Virginia. Despite being listed as a wide receiver on 247Sports, they have him ranked as an athlete. He’s the No. 7 athlete in the country according to 247Sports Composite and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia.
Again though, Penn State’s 2023 class is still a top five rated class in the country according to 247Sports. Florida, the big victor on the recruiting trail today, is at No. 26.
